With a funky new Britomart location, OFF takes the ‘serious’ out of seriously smooth skin, one happy customer at a time.

A stellar local example of the ‘beauty bar’ phenomenon that has swept the globe of late, OFF Wax & Brow Bar – winner of Metro’s ‘Best Wax’ award every year since 2009 – is now open at Britomart.

OFF prides itself on being the antithesis of a spa or beauty salon, with a ban on “whale music, serenity water fountains and lotus flowers” and a dedication to completing the task at hand with zero fuss and maximum professionalism. The atmosphere is anything but clinical, with chic black-clad staff, great music and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

With OFF’s Takapuna and Newmarket branches consistently booked out, the challenge for owner Nicky Shore was to find another premium location that fitted with her customers’ needs and lifestyle. It wasn’t long before she decided that Britomart was the perfect spot for city-based clients to pop into during the working day, and for newcomers to experience her team’s key philosophy of “seriously smooth skin without it all feeling quite so serious”.

From Brazilian wax to male waxing

The Britomart location has dedicated waxing rooms designed to maximise the end result and the experience, and a barber-style brow bar, armed with a true arsenal of brow-shaping techniques and products. When you book in for a ‘Brow Wow’ shape you won’t be just getting a quick tidy, you’ll be emerging with a whole new frame for your face.

With four waxing rooms, and three brow stations, the new location builds on the current OFF model; however, the focus on specialisation goes one step further. The team consists of true specialists in their three departments – brows, female waxing and male waxing – and a brand new initiative that will see OFF make ‘manscaping’ mainstream.

Known as the ‘OFF Workshop’, it’s a man-centric spot with customised wax and waxing procedures – these are the people who trademarked the ‘Brozilian’ – as well as the same no-nonsense approach to going bare women have been experiencing at OFF for years.
