Blueberry Smash Cocktail Recipe

Impress your friends this long weekend by whipping up a batch of this recklessly delicious drink. Created by the masters of mixology at Britomart Country Club, the Blueberry Smash is sure to go down a treat.

Blueberry Smash

Glass: Jar
Garnish: Basil leaf and 3 blueberries
Ice: Cubed and crushed ice 

Ingredients

30ml Belvedere vodka
15ml sugar syrup*
15ml lemon juice
soda water
2 spoons blueberries
2 basil leaves

 

Method  

Add vodka, sugar syrup, lemon juice, blueberries and basil to the jar and muddle (stir and squash).

Next, add two or three cubes of ice to the jar, top with soda and stir.

Finally, cap the drink with crushed ice and garnish with a basil leaf and the extra blueberries.

Enjoy.

*To make your own sugar syrup mix 1C water and 1C sugar in a pot and bring to the boil. Heat until sugar is dissolved then remove from the heat and cool to room temperature. Store in a cool pantry or refrigerate.

This Saturday 7 February they’re hosting their Waitangi weekend ‘Weird Together’ party from 5pm. Featuring music from former George FM DJ Nick D, MayaVanya and People of Paris, tickets start at just $15 for earlybirders and are available from iticket.
