The Arepa is a versatile South American delight that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. These delicious corn cakes can be prepared with many different types of fillings or toppings – but we like to leave it to the experts at Olas Street Food.
On Saturday 9 September, the Arepa will be celebrated worldwide for its versatility and its heritage. This year, Olas Street Food, a stall at La Cigale Market at Britomart will be fundraising for the DonaUnaArepa Social Program of VenMundo, where donations will be used to provide food to children, families and the elderly in extreme poverty and severe malnutrition in Venezuela.
Head down to Olas and spare some change for this amazing cause. The Olas team will also donate a percentage of the sales to the Arepa Social Program. You’ll also be able to savour the ‘Reina Pepiada Arepa’ (shredded chicken and avocado filling Arepa) as well as special combos.
