Coast New Zealand had its beginnings on a yacht in 2004. After sitting through an America’s Cup regatta on several uncomfortable spectator boats, yachties Nicola and Alex Webster devised the Marine Bean – an outdoor bean bag as comfortable as it is good-looking.

Durable and weatherproof enough to survive on the sea – let alone your deck – the Kiwi-made Marine Bean remains Coast’s best-selling product today.

From outdoor bean bags to furniture

As well as an extended range of outdoor bean bags, Coast is today famous for its hardwearing range of designer luggage. Coast’s Outdoor Room store also showcases other well-crafted collections of outdoor furniture and accessories, from pizza ovens to BBQs to sun umbrellas.

The Outdoor Room also has quality accessories for those with an eye for the finer details, including cooking utensils, glassware, outdoor cushions and beach towels. Brands include Webber, Tradewinds, Zesti, Big Green Egg, Eva Solo, Bob McDonald and Manutti.

Located in the Altrans Building, the Coast store has entrances off Quay Street and Tyler Street, with parking in the Quay Street entrance.
