Recently named one of Monocle Magazine’s top 50 restaurants in the world – Ortolana is giving us yet another reason to schedule in a visit.
Every Monday, Ortolana offers diners complimentary corkage and the chance to savour an exclusive dish. Cork and Fork BYO Mondays allows you to bring your own bottle of wine and not have to fork out on excessive corkage fees.
“Some establishments are charging upwards of $30 to BYO and we want to put a cork in that. This is about catering to diners who wish to pair a nice bottle of their own wine with our provenance-inspired menus, and not get screwed in the process,” said Andrew Brown, Head of Marketing at HIP Group.
What about the ‘fork’ in Cork and Fork? In addition to its regular menu, Ortolana also features the option of a Monday-only special, for which the team at Ortolana will even suggest via social media the appropriate matching wine to bring along. Warning: the following may make you incredibly hungry… Past dishes have included ricotta gnocchi, capsicum, spinach and rabbit pappardelle with brandied persimmon and pistachio.
Both online bookings and walk-ins are welcome. Diners are able to bring in their own bottles from 5pm every Monday.
