Britomart’s ever-evolving Fashion Sessions, brought to you by Westpac and as part of 4 Days of Fashion in the Heart of the City, will this year be an intimate and dynamic affair that runs across four diverse days. From a lunchtime conversation with two designers in a spectacular room, to a fascinating real-time look at what happens behind the scenes of a show, 2017 is all about doing what we’ve never done before.
Wednesday 29 March will see 120 guests enjoy a sit down lunch prepared by HIPGROUP’s Amano, in the gorgeous Quay Project Space, as they listen to top designers (and great friends) Juliette Hogan and Kathryn Wilson talk about business, motherhood and future plans.
Later on Wednesday, RJB Design will host the ultimate mens’ evening: whiskey tasting, grooming tips and cigars are on offer, along with a presentation of new season’s garments.
On Thursday night, Tyler St will become a runway for Zambesi, Kate Sylvester and WORLD to showcase their current collections within a sparkling marquee – this is how a group show is done. Beauty gurus Ryder and M.A.C will be on hand taking our collective breath away as they’ll be doing at every turn, across the events.
Huffer take over on Friday with an in-store ‘Winter Warm Up’ – think drink, food, and a new season showing done Huffer-style. Friday evening, things get serious (in a fun way) with a grand scale, open air show by Trelise Cooper across Takutai Square.
Saturday sees an imaginative installation from taylor; behind-the-scenes will be turned on its head with a special show happening three times throughout the day. On the same day, Fabric will present an incredible vintage market; specialty Japanese denim pieces and other one-off finds will leave the clutches of curator Simon Miller and be on display, with many also for sale.
And to take refuge from the fabulous madness, we have the Mt Difficulty lounge on Ostro’s City Terrace, open to the public from 12pm till late each day. In addition, Made will be home to an amazing installation by KAMP.studio featuring jewellery, homeware and objects – industrial, beautiful, unmissable.
Four days, eight events, countless selfie opportunities and the chance to be part of some truly innovative, exciting New Zealand fashion moments. This is Britomart’s Fashion Sessions for 2017, brought to you by Westpac and as part of 4 Days of Fashion in the Heart of the City.
