Dust off your running shoes, it’s time to clock up the k’s before the Auckland Marathon this October with the help of these two run clubs.

Set to take the city by storm on Sunday 29 October, the marathon crosses the Harbour Bridge and spans the city from Devonport to Downtown. If 42k sounds like a stretch, don’t fret – the race includes a half-marathon, a 12k, 5k and kids run as well.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a first-time marathoner, training with a group is the perfect way to get road-ready. Boost your training with two free running events every week:

Nike Run Club meets every Wednesday from 5.30pm outside Nike Britomart. Nike Pace Leaders will lead you through the downtown streets and help you push for a personal best.

lululemon athletica’s Sole Squad meet on Thursdays from 5.30pm outside the Britomart store. Stu Ross,lululemon Ambassador, will make sure your running form is on point so you make it through the marathon injury-free.
