Tyler Street Garage
Once a lowly parking garage, now a funky waterfront bar and bistro, everything about Tyler Street Garage is engineered for a great night out.
Garage wears its humble heritage proudly: the industrial fabric of the building
is still clearly visible in its rough brick walls, exposed utilities and
original parking signage.
The modern fitout also gives more than a passing nod to the building’s workaday beginnings, with its solid industrial staircase, vast steel feature wall and cast aluminium bar.
All this is a foil for the high polish of the service and the simple excellence of the food. Add in luxury leather seating, clever lighting and gleaming vintage tiling and the result is something very slick and very cool.
Satisfying bar food and a roof terrace
Everything about Tyler Street Garage is geared towards big, noisy, fun nights out: the enamel pitchers of tap beer, the fun, flirty signature cocktails and the versatile and satisfying menu.
Gourmet pizzas, perfect burgers, salads and sharing-sized plates of robust savoury flavours: this is exactly the sort of food you want when you’re out on the town.
Upstairs, the north-facing rooftop bar boasts the best panoramic waterfront view a parking garage ever had. With its resort-style seating, covered fireplace area and own fully stocked bar, this is quite possibly the best spot in town for an afternoon drink.
If you’re with a group of mates intent on a good time, Tyler Street Garage is the place to head, whether it’s a Sunday afternoon, an after-work Wednesday or a Saturday night set to last till Sunday.
Open day and night seven days a week, with regular DJs and live music, it’s also an excellent destination before or after a show at Vector Arena.
