The brand’s second eyewear collection for men is shot on one of the world’s top fighters.

Karen Walker’s success with eyewear has been astronomical, so it was with open arms that the world welcomed her first men’s collection under the name “Monumental.” In typical, atypical style, the first sunglasses were modelled on quirky musician Connan Mockasin – and now, with a second collection, Walker has chosen a knockout new muse.

Israel Adesanya is a Nigerian-born New Zealand mixed martial artist currently fighting in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In October 2017, he was ranked number 6 middleweight worldwide in kickboxing. Lending his face to Monumental, complete with flowers behind his ears, Adesanya brings another dimension to the brand’s modern take on masculinity.

MONUMENTAL brings the beauty of structural form to the fore, with acetate and metal combination frames and rimless lenses that are super lightweight for ease of wearability, floating over the face like a butterfly to a bee. Colours for the new season include dark horn, charcoal, black, soft cream, midnight navy, matt khaki, vintage clear and crazy tort.

This is another collection set to be an instant classic while remaining full of the brand’s intangible magic, and Adesanya is its perfectly unpredictable champion.

In stores now.
