Established in 2001 as a mecca for lovers of the best in international fashion, Fabric’s flagship store in Britomart is an oasis of refinement. From the Katie Lockhart-designed fitout to the impeccable curation of the world’s best fashion magazines, this is a tastemaker’s paradise.

Fabric was founded by kiwis Simon Miller and Marty Andrews who buy mainly from Japan and Paris and who hold value quality above the virtue of a passing fad. Labels offered in store cover menswear, womenswear, footwear and fragrance and include Comme des Garcons, Isabel Marant, A.P.C and Levis Vintage Clothing.

After fifteen years across different parts of town, Miller and Andrews consolidated two stores into one with Britomart, making it their only standalone store worldwide. The feeling and layout speaks to Miller’s love for the faultless boutiques of Japan and features traditional Japanese changing rooms and other careful nods to the culture. As with all of the world’s best shopping spots, there are entry-point goodies such as magazines, perfumes and casual accessories alongside higher priced items. Combine all this with an exceptionally knowledgable team of staff and a consistently good soundtrack… and you have Fabric.
