Auckland publishing institution Metro has long been one of the city’s most reliable arbiters of taste and quality when it comes to the best places to drink and dine.

For the magazine’s annual roundup of Auckland’s best watering holes, Metro judges visited scores of bars, rating them on atmosphere, decor, service, drinks list, price and all-round ability to show punters a good time.

Now the results are in and listed in the October 2012 issue – and five of Britomart’s worthy establishments have made the top 50. Which, of course, will come as no surprise to Britomart regulars.

Perennial favourites The Britomart Country Club, 1885 Britomart and Tyler Street Garage were all honoured in the list, along with Roukai Lane legend Racket and the newest addition to the Britomart family, Vietnamese bar and eatery Xuxu.

We’ll raise a glass to that!
