Make sure you’re at Britomart on the morning of Saturday 17 December for a very special Christmas market in Takutai Square. Bring the kids, soak up some festive atmosphere Britomart-style and get some Christmas shopping done into the bargain.

The City Farmers’ Market will be open as usual on Gore Street from 8.30am to 12.30pm, with the usual array of fresh local seasonal produce – including wonderful strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, asparagus and fresh flowers.

There’ll be festive goodies like Christmas cookies and cakes and handmade artisan foods that make great gifts – preserves, chutneys, dukkah, deli goods and sweet treats. (You could make up your own Christmas hampers as presents!)

Gift stalls, kids’ activities and live music

Stalls of fashion and Christmas gift ideas will also be set up in Takutai Square and at Atrium on Takutai by Britomart shops, including The Poi Room, The Concept Store, Storeroom and Molotov. A free giftwrapping service will be available all day in the Atrium and at the Showcase.

For the kids, there’ll be face painting, cookie icing at lululemon athletica, art activities at Kikki K and other fun surprises – including Santa Claus himself, fresh from the beach!

There’ll be bean bags and a Macpac tent to play in on Takutai Lawn, a sizzling barbecue courtesy of Coast New Zealand and ever-popular ukulele group Tahini Jam will be setting the scene with their own lively brand of seasonal music.

The market will be on rain or shine – if the weather’s bad, the fun will just move into Atrium on Takutai. And once the market wraps up, the shops and cafes in the precinct will remain open so you can stay and make a day of it.

Parking at Britomart Car Park

Don't forget there’s plenty of hassle-free parking at Britomart Car Park, on the corner of Quay Street and Britomart Place. And there'll be a $10 all-day parking special on the day of the Christmas market – so you can stay and hang out in the precinct as long as you like.
