Sculpt Women's 6k
The Sculpt Women’s 6k running and walking event is back after a successful event last year. This 2012 event will take place at Britomart on Sunday 18 November. Designed to be a fun, inclusive event for women of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, it’s set out over a flat, buggy-friendly course comfortable for both running and walking.
The entry fee is $40 and all entrants receive a goody bag. All event finishers also go into the draw for a brand-new 2012 Mazda2 Sport. And if you and two friends want to get creative with your outfits, you could each win a Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera! The best-dressed trio will be picked by judges on the day, and there are great second- and third-place prizes too.
Online entries close on 16 November 2012 or as soon as the entry limit has been reached. You can also make a late entry while picking up your event packet at the Australis Room on Saturday 17 November (see below). Late entries will incur a late fee of $10.
Picking up your event packet
Event packets must be picked up at the Australis Room, 36 Customs Street East, Britomart, the day before the event. The collection time is Saturday 17 November, 9am to 3pm.
Your event packet will contain an event bib that MUST be worn at the event, and your product sample goody bag. If you were one of the first 3000 online entrants, you will also receive an event T-shirt with your packet.
You can get someone else to pick up your event packet for you. There will be no packet pick-up on event day.
On the day
There is plenty of parking at Britomart Car Park on the corner of Quay Street and Britomart Place. Britomart Car Park is offering a $10 parking deal all day on Sunday 18 November for participants and supporters.
The event start and finish is right next to Britomart Transport Centre, so there are plenty of bus, train and ferry options for getting to the event. Check www.maxx.co.nz for timetable info.
There will be a bag check at 51 Galway Street, opposite Takutai Square – look for the signs on the day. Gear must be in bags and checked in before 7.30am. You must collect your bag again by 11.30am on event day.
The event start is 8am on Gore Street in front of Takutai Square. Runners and walkers start together and complete two laps of the three-kilometre course.
Post-event celebrations begin in Takutai Square at 9.30am.
The roads in the interior of the precinct (Gore Street, Tyler Street, Galway Street) will be closed from Saturday 17 November. The roads around the outside of the precinct will have parking restrictions in place but will remain open to traffic in both directions throughout the event.
