Urbis Designday comes to Britomart
Fisher & Paykel and collaborators from the Engine Room, IMO and Alt Group are bringing the 'Social Kitchen' installation to Britomart for Urbis Designday on Saturday 19 March.
Visitors should prepare for a sense-challenging exhibition, with new perspectives on kitchen traditions, innovative design solutions and carefully crafted tastes, all housed within a converted shipping container and specially engineered outdoor space.
The Fisher & Paykel design team, with Alt Group and furniture designer Sam Haughton of IMO, will demonstrate how functional and intuitive design can bring out the absolute best from the ever-changing kitchen landscape, while chefs Natalia Schamroth and Carl Koppenhagen of the Engine Room will serve-up eight bite-sized works of art that turn traditional tastes upside down.
Urbis Designday is a one-day ticketed event that teams up the best creative practitioners from the worlds of fashion, art, music and architecture with Auckland’s leading design showrooms. Together they will create 13 unique and inspiring installations around Auckland City. Visit www.urbismagazine.com/designday for more details.
