Join us in the celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year, with a special selection of food trucks, a dragon dance performance in Takutai Square and complimentary red envelopes next week!

Traditional Dragon Dance

Make your way to Takutai Square and watch the E-PACS Lion and Dragon Dance Group perform a special dragon dance, a Chinese tradition believed to drive away evil spirits and usher in good luck and blessings for the community. The dance will run from 12.30pm until 12.45pm, so come for lunch and catch the show.

A Special-Edition Food Truck Wednesday

We've got a wonderful line-up of vendors for next week's Food Truck Wednesday, bringing an excellent selection of Asian fare to Takutai Square. From 11.30am until 2.00pm, Akemi's Gyoza will be serving up hand-made authentic Japanese dumplings, with three delicious flavours available. Karaage Boy will be bringing a taste of iconic Japanese street food to the Square, with crispy and fluffy Karaage fried chicken. Filipino food truck Hapunan are set to serve up traditional Pinoy dishes with a modern touch, including rice bowls, light bites and desserts. Butter Baby will bring the comfort foods, with an assortment of mouth-watering sweet treats and doughnuts.

Complimentary Red Envelopes

You can pick up your complimentary red envelopes — a festive gift presented as a gesture of hospitality and good luck, typically used to gift money — at Britomart boutiques, cafes, bars and eateries. This year's illustration was done by New Zealand-born Chinese artist and illustrator Pippa Fay, representing the Year of the Snake — symbolising wisdom, transformation, charm, growth and renewal.
