Michael Meredith is the owner and founder of the award-winning, Britomart-based restaurant, Mr Morris. When he's not enjoying his own excellent food creations, he has some other favourite haunts in Britomart.
What do you love about working at Britomart?
MICHAEL On a good day in Britomart, you can always find a lot of people down in Takutai Square enjoying the space. There's always a lot of activations down here which keeps it fun and entertaining. I always feel like if you're in the city, it's always a good place to come and check out. One of my favourite places I like to go to is Allbirds to get some footwear. Since we're on our feet all day, it's important to get the right pair of shoes.
Aside from Mr Morris, where are your favourite places to eat in Britomart?
MICHAEL I like going down to Amano (above left). They have a good range of coffee and pastries and they offer really good weekly specials like choux pastry with almond cream and praline. Alma (above right) is another one of my favourites. The location is great, and executive chef Jo Pearson cooks really well. There's a dish she does there that is unmatched – the Pork Pinchitos, which they serve with seasonal fruit accents like peach or pear. I think that's the great thing about Britomart: having so many different eateries down here because there's so many places to choose from. We're definitely lucky to be a part of Britomart.
