How does a swatch of fabric become a finished garment? Where does the journey begin? We find out with Kate Sylvester.

To get you extra excited about The Fashion Sessions brought to you by Westpac, we have been visiting Britomart’s designers and asking them to reveal a bit of the magic that makes up their brand. For Kate Sylvester this meant showing us through the design process – how does a sketch and a swatch of fabric become a finished garment? Where does the journey begin?

For Kate Sylvester’s new Autumn/Winter range ‘Mrs Mia Wallace’ it all began within the seedy glory of Quentin Tarantino’s cult movie Pulp Fiction. You may not look at guns, wigs and oversized trench coats and think fashion… but Kate did, and we are very, very grateful.

View Mrs Mia Wallace online now or see the collection come alive at the Tyler Street Runway Show.
