Kiel Tutin is a world-renowned choreographer and dancer who grew up in New Zealand. When he's not working and travelling the world with international superstars BLACKPINK and Jolin Tsai, Kiel likes to come back home to Tāmaki Makaurau for a break and hang out in the city with friends. Read on for a rundown on how he spends his time in Britomart.

As a global choreographer, you're always travelling. How was it being back in Auckland and staying in the CBD?

KIEL TUTIN I really enjoyed it down here. I travel so often and in such a range of different places, but Auckland is always a home to come back to. It was my first time staying at The Hotel Britomart and I enjoyed the relaxed and chill vibe. Being at Britomart allowed me to have a central base in the city amongst the hustle and bustle. It was a good central base for everything I needed to do while I was here, and the space itself is always buzzing with fun activations, good food and great shopping.

There are some great places to shop downtown. Do you have any favourite stores in the area?

KIEL AS Colour is a good one, especially for some good-quality basics. I did a complete restock of my dance attire which was perfect, especially with dancing and travelling. It was great shopping at Zambesi and Fabric, they have some great pieces you wouldn't normally be able to get elsewhere in Auckland.

For your international friends, where would you take them for some tasty food in Britomart?

KIEL For something a little upscale, I would take them to one of my favourite places, Amano. For casual catchups, I would probably go with Daily Bread or The Store - two classic New Zealand cafes that have elevated offerings. You can't go wrong with an eggs bene!
