Autumn beauty is all about minimal, clean shapes and rich hues.
You might have noticed from our recent newsletters, here and here, that we really love artist Shannon Novak’s Symphony installation in the Galway St Westpac overbridges. So when we were planning where to do our Autumn beauty shoot, the location, with its glorious play of colour and light, seemed obvious.
The team from Britomart’s Ryder salon created a minimal, geometric look for the hair, segmenting the hair into sections with clean parts to echo the shapes of the installation and securing it close and low against the head.
Ryder director Greg Murrell used smoothing products R+CO Motorcycle Gel (for thicker, stronger hair) and R+CO Jackpot Styling Crème (for fine hair) to keep the look sleek, finishing with R+CO Outer Spray Flexible Hairspray to give it all-day hold.
MAKE UP TIP:
M.A.C Cosmetics Pro Retail Manager Blair Gamblin kept the makeup look minimal, with neutral lips, super-clean, highlighted skin and a soft, sultry eye with a smudged-out lash line to allow the rich jewel colors of the artwork shine. She used MAC Fixe Plus, MAC Strobe Cream, MAC Groundwork Paint Pot, MAC Eyeshadows in Saddle and Bark with MAC Eye Pencil in Costa Riche, MAC Pearl Cream Colour Base as a highlight, and finished it off with MAC Lipstick in Hug Me.
