Our new Project Space exhibition features one of New Zealand’s most prominent Pacific artists.

Niuean-born New Zealand artist John Pule’s work is wide-ranging and deep-searching. From poetry and novels to painting and etching, his art explores issues of colonisation, cultural imperialism and exchange, competing mythologies, global politics and threats of violence.

This month, Britomart is privileged to display three limited-edition etchings from a collaboration between Pule and the poet, essayist, curator and painter Gregory O’Brien, based on a trip the pair took to the Kermadec Islands, on loan from Gow Langsford Gallery. Check them out next time you’re passing Project Space gallery on Customs St East.
