Three of our favourite eats at La Cigale’s Britomart Farmers’ Market, new cocktails, free fitness and more in Britomart this week.

This week we’re kicking off with a chat with Justin (above), also known as ‘The Nut Guy’ at La Cigale Market in Britomart’s Takutai Square every Saturday. Click through to read about Justin’s love of bacon (specifically, the Bacon Brothers, who also appear in this post, along with their smash-hit bacon sandwiches), and meet a few more of the friendly La Cigale Britomart stallholders. Come for a visit on Saturdays from 8am-1pm if you’re after fresh fruit and veges, great eats and a pleasing place to hang out. Click here to read more…

Super’s amazing July lunch special changes weekly – next week it’s Cauliflower Fritters + a glass of wine or Merguez Lamb Burger + a beer for just $15, 12-1pm every weekday.

Cafe Hanoi’s new cocktails are a brilliant splash of sunshine on a cloudy day. Brighten up with a refreshingly fruity rum and bourbon Trader Chuoi or gin Sa Pa Breeze (pictured).

Karen Walker has gone all philatelic with her new collection, ‘Love Letter’, fresh on shelves in her Britomart flagship store. Turns out the globally renowned fashion designer was once a keen stamp collector. Her musings on the almost-lost magic of the letter have led to a collection that’s a tribute to Edwardian postage stamps and the romance of faraway places. We’re particularly taken with the lovely botanical print of the ‘Penny Black’ dress (above) and the way it whispers, ‘spring!’

Pucker up – it’s Lips Month at M.A.C. This week, the pretty new Plenty of Pout collection of lipsticks and lipglosses with plumping properties has landed on-shelf. No bee-stings required.

Arriving nearby at Jo Malone London this week are luxurious line extensions in some of the brand’s top-selling scents – a nourishing body and hair oil, and a rich body and hand wash.

It’s hard to find excuses to miss this: For the whole month of July, you can join any 30-minute group exercise class at Les Mills Britomart for free. There are cycle sprints, high-intensity Grit classes, barre, Bodypump and more to choose from. Come in, warm up, shape up and strut out. Check out the timetable of classes here.

The latest Commes des Garçons drop at Fabric has many beautiful things, but it was these blue-and-black woven hologram sneakers that really caught our eye. Bold but not (in our opinion) shouty, and made in Japan.

Sometimes you just need to get out of the city. Our sister company, The Landing, is hosting the ultimate women’s wellness weekend in October at the luxurious Bay of Islands property. Click here for more information.
