Meet Nick, one of our talented musicians who will be playing his tunes at Takutai Square throughout summer.

What do you play/what is your genre?
Acoustic guitar, singer songwriter. My genre could be best summed up as Ed Sheeran.

Do you have a day job? What is it?
I work as a Mechanical Engineer for an Engineering Consultant.

When did you start singing/ playing music and what do you love about it?
I first started playing the guitar when I was as around nine (the singing followed by a few years). What I love about music is the way that you can connect with so many different types of people. People you might not normally have common ground with.

What/who inspires you?
On a personal level – my family. On a music level – Ed Sheeran. General positivity is what inspires me.

Can you share a lyric you love?
All these years will wash away and we’ll be clean but we’ll have nothing more – Avalanche City.

What’s the best thing about playing music?
Taking your mind off everything else and being able to focus on pure creativity.

What do you want for Christmas?
Some good calm water and biting fish.

What are your summer plans?
I’m looking forward to spending time on Waiheke at the beach with the family.

How can we hear more of you?
