We're shouting breakfast at The Hotel Britomart, and inviting interesting speakers to inspire you.

We're delighted to invite you to two free breakfast talks we're hosting at The Hotel Britomart in May.

On Tuesday 9 May, Britomart's Jeremy Hansen will be talking to Sarah Wright, an associate professor at the University of Canterbury's Business School who has been researching the phenomenon of "workplace loneliness" and how it's worsened dramatically as flexible working has become more widespread.

Sarah isn't saying that flexibility is bad, but that working from home can be a convenience trap that isn't necessarily optimal for mental wellness. Her research has been published recently in the Harvard Business Review; the potential it raises for how we might reorganise our workplaces is fascinating. Don't miss this – the talk is free but there are only 60 places at it, so reserve yours at this link.

Speaking of connecting people, we've lined up two speakers for our second Britomart Breakfast on Thursday 18 May to talk tech – specifically, how to make digital meetings work best for everyone, and how to keep yourselves, your homes and your businesses cyber-safe. Mike Carroll from tech advisory firm Brightly will be joining our own chief tech officer, Kelly Parlane, for this talk. So reserve your place at this link, and come along with your questions ready!
