Britomart is thrilled to announce the arrival of Deadly Ponies with a “Guerilla Store” now open on Tyler Street.
Deadly Ponies is a luxury New Zealand accessories label synonymous with artisanal quality and sumptuous materials. Renowned for working with local tanneries, Creative Director Liam Bowden has been crafting leather goods and accessories since 2005.
Opening on the ground floor of the Seafarers building on Tyler St, Britomart today, the “Guerilla Store” concept is a creative space which will “evolve in phases” for the rest of 2017, representing the best of Deadly Ponies catering to both men and women.
The store has been fitted out in collaboration with interiors superstar Katie Lockhart. It is a distinctive space that is “artistically raw” and features preserved Pierre Frey Braquenié wallpaper from 1824, depicting various village activities in Normandy. The beautifully historical and ornate French classicism fit-out is a luxurious twist, perfectly honed to the Britomart experience and the store’s offerings. According to Bowden, the space will “dynamically develop” with the introduction of different collections.
What started as one-off leather accessories made for friends and family has developed into an ever-expanding range of products; hugely covetable pieces, every season, both here and across the globe. Deadly Ponies is a Kiwi success story and a very welcome addition to Britomart.
