We caught up with the illustrator otherwise known as Chippy Draws, who has created several designs for Britomart, including this year’s Valentine’s Day campaign.

You created the illustration for our 2020 Valentine’s Day campaign – can you tell us a little about it?

The Britomart Black Card and the cheeky Love Heart are absolute couple goals.

Are you a romantic at heart? Any plans for the day?

Yep, for sure. I do indeed, but I might keep those plans to myself. *shhhh*

You’ve also been working on a new logo for our regular Food Truck Fridays event. Care to give us a heads-up about what we’ll be seeing there?

I've created a yummy gang of pastel-coloured food truck critters that will be driving through real soon to let you know where the best place to eat in downtown AKL is.

Since we last chatted, you’ve winged it away across the Tasman to Melbourne. Why did you make the move and what are you loving about your new hometown?

There's quite a vibrant arts and culture scene over here in Melbourne. I'm born and bred in Auckland central so I thought it was about time to make a change and learn from new experiences.

What are you currently working on, or have recently finished that we might spot around town?

Currently, I've a got some work on display at 272 Parnell Rd as part of a project for Parnell Business Association. Other than that, I'm trying to find my feet in Australia and hopefully get involved in the art scene over here!
