New Zealand’s biggest name in fashion is looking forward to a low-key Christmas and a trip somewhere out-of-the-way.
What does Christmas mean to you?
I’ll be celebrating the solstice by taking the time to really enjoy the height of summer and light, soaking up every moment of the long days and the sense of well-being that they bring.
How will you be spending Christmas this year?
I’m not sure what we’ll do for Christmas Day, it’ll probably be just my small family having a lazy day in the back yard. For the summer holidays, we’ll spend the first week and half at home – lots of swims, dog walks, beach visits and tennis as well as plenty of reading. We have family visiting from LA then too, which will be great fun.
Then, back to work for a week and then off to Great Barrier for five days, which is always heavenly. After that, more family visiting from the UK and then it’s back to work to start the new year.
What are the three items you’d like to treat yourself to this Christmas?
For myself I’m always happy to get an addition to my reading pile or home library – I’ve got my eye on several pieces from our pop-up book store with Hedleys Booksellers that’s in Britomart at present.
Also, a pair of our silk pyjamas from our recent collaboration with Papinelle – I’ve already got a pair of the spotty ones but I think I might need the animal print too.
And, finally, I never say no to a bit of travel and am thinking I’d be very happy with a few days away in Queenstown as an extra bit of magic.
What are the three items you’d most like to gift to other people this Christmas?
I’ll be gifting lots of World Vision Smiles gifts as we’ve worked with them this year to design a card for them – I love what they do and am always so happy to give or receive these gifts. Top of the list will be beehives and school starter kits.
Also, I’ll be gifting plenty of people our bamboo reusable coffee cup that we’ve done to raise money for SPCA this summer.
And there’ll be a few people receiving our mini Runaway Girl studs.
